Haynes assessor candidate to trust
My vote for assessor of property is for the only candidate who has proven he understands the responsibilities of the office, Marty Haynes. Marty Haynes has been the only candidate who has talked about making improvements without being a politician with an agenda.
As a senior and property owner, I want trustworthy public servants. Marty Haynes is the only candidate who has proven he can be trusted to access my property assessment and work with our hard-earned investment.
Join me in supporting the Republican candidate for assessor of property, Marty Haynes. He’s the only one we can trust.

Too many accidents; ban radar detectors
I would hope the state of Tennessee would consider legislating new laws to reduce accidents. There are too many accidents happening on the local interstates, and enforcement of some of the basic laws like speed limit or tailgating is near zero.
Speed cameras should be made legal for issuing citations. Radar detectors should be prohibited as in the state of Virginia. States pay thousands of taxpayer dollars to purchase radar guns, pay salaries for troopers to monitor them, and then anyone can buy a radar detector. This is counter-productive. There are too many drivers not capable of driving excessive speeds without being involved in an accident or causing one.

Stulce commentary ‘sophomoric blather’
The recent op-ed piece by Terry Stulce contains the usual condescending blather of a poorly informed, gun-hating liberal.
He calls those who disagree with him pathetic possessing adolescent fantasies. This is the normal discourse of a person possessing neither the mental acuity required, nor the tolerance to comprehend; there are those who honestly disagree with him that are not crackpots or idiots. His paucity of intellectual honesty leaves little other than sophomoric insults in his rather limited mental arsenal.
The Second Amendment was crafted to protect us from simple-minded folk such as the column writer. Thank God for our Founding Fathers and the wisdom they displayed.
Should everyone agree today that the AR-15 rifle be banned, it would be like closing the barn door after the horse has fled. There are millions of legal weapons in the hands of millions of citizens that cause no harm to anyone. I would not surrender my weapons.
As to the assertion it takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun is a delusion: Did you read about the recent holdup in East Ridge?
The delusion killed the robber.
