Laboratory reports are still pending in the death of 26-year-old Grundy County, Tenn., mother Samantha Kathleen Chandler, Sheriff Clint Shrum said Monday.

Although authorities in May had "a strong lead," Shrum said there have been no new developments or new details to release. No charges have been filed.

Chandler's body was found May 1 about 150 feet off a remote, rural road in an isolated area south of the town of Gruetli-Laager.

Some ATV riders spotted Chandler's body near the area where Ross Creek Road becomes Burkett's Chapel Road, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. The area - consisting of heavily wooded terrain that is crisscrossed with trails and fire roads - is frequented by off-roaders and outdoor enthusiasts.

Shrum said earlier in the investigation that Chandler lived at a Pickett Lake Road West home until August. State property records show the home belongs to Daniel Chandler and describe the residence as a mobile home on a little less than 2 acres.

TBI agents searched the home in late May, but spokeswoman Susan Niland on Monday said the state agency couldn't discuss "potential suspects or specific evidence at this state in the investigation."

Niland said officials continue to evaluate the evidence collected from the Chandler home.

Samantha Chandler was living with her parents in Gruetli-Laager around the time she was killed, Shrum said.
