The Chattanooga Zoo is gearing up for its annual Q n’ Brew event, set for Saturday, July 16 from 6-10 p.m. Being held on the anniversary of the 2015 Chattanooga shootings, this year’s Q n’ Brew will be in memory of the Fallen Five, and the zoo is offering free event admission to active military service members and veterans.
The popular barbecue event, which has been held each summer since 2012, allows attendees to visit the zoo after hours, experience animal encounters and interact with the zoo’s “animal ambassadors,” said Hannah Hammon, director of marketing and communications for the Chattanooga Zoo.
“The Q n’ Brew is a fun and relaxed event and is favored by zoo guests and staff,” she said. “Some of the guest favorites for this event are the variety of food vendors, all of our animal encounters and activities, and that it is a family-friendly summertime event.”
Hammon said the tortoise races introduced during last year’s Q n’ Brew were such a huge hit that the zoo is bringing them back this year.
Attendees can also enjoy live country music performed by the Brian Milson Band, play games and purchase barbecue from the variety of vendors on-site – such as Double Barrel BBQ, Moonshiners BBQ, Rib & Loin, Chili’s and Texas Roadhouse.
