Marsha Bradshaw can still remember gathering with fellow classmates in front of the TV in her classroom at West Side Elementary School to learn of the assassination of John F. Kennedy. That was Nov. 22, 1963.
Now, 53 years later, Bradshaw and her former classmates will gather once again, this time for their first reunion.
The event, happening Saturday, July 23 at 6 p.m., is open to all graduates of the school, regardless of the year.
The idea for a reunion was originally brought up over an informal dinner attended by 15 of West Side’s graduates from the ’70s, but no one seemed to think it would actually happen, said Bradshaw.
“We all were like, ‘You know, even if we don’t have a reunion this was so cool to see everyone,'” she said.
