GENERALS 6, LOOKOUTS 0
Thursday’s recap: Jackson used three pitchers to shut down the Lookouts on just two hits, both by Dalton Hicks. Generals starter Tyler Herb won his first Double-A start with six innings of two-hit baseball, though he had to work through five walks. Chattanooga had its chances and left 14 runners on base through the first six innings. However, after Herb was lifted to start the seventh, Jackson relievers Forrest Snow and Dan Altavilla retired the final nine batters in a row to end the game. The big blow was Kyle Petty’s three-run triple in the fourth, stretching what had been a 1-0 lead to four runs.
Next up: Game three of a five-game series in Jackson is tonight at 8:05 EDT.
Pitchers: Omar Bencomo (2-5, 4.50) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Andrew Moore (4-1, 3.23) scheduled for the Generals.
