Two suspects led Hamilton County deputies and Georgia State troopers on a chase that ended after a forced crash in Whitfield County Thursday evening, according to a press release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.

Michael Stroud, the driver, allegedly tried to pull a gun after attempting to run from the crash but was arrested without anyone being shot, according to the release.

The passenger, Ashley Haynes, also tried to flee but was arrested, according to the release.

The chase began on Highway 153 near the Shallowford Road exit when officers tried to pull over an allegedly stolen vehicle. Stroud fled and led officers into Georgia, where they unsuccessfully tried to use spike strips, according to the release. Troopers then caused the vehicle to wreck, according to the release.

Stroud and Haynes will be taken back Hamilton County once they are officially charged in Georgia, according to the release.

Stroud will be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle/property, felony reckless endangerment and felony evading, according to the release. Officials are unsure at this time what charges Haynes faces in Georgia or Hamilton County.
