Wilkinson coward in skipping debate
I attended a recent Democratic Party debate in Bradley County between Ty O’Grady and Khristy Wilkinson. They both sounded like great candidates for the position of state senator. I asked why Nick Wilkinson wasn’t there, and they said he turned down every date and every invitation to debate!
I am stunned the Chattanooga Times opinion page would choose to promote a candidate like Nick who is obviously afraid to publicly debate his opponents. What does he think his job will involve if he is elected? I expect more from an elected official than just collecting a paycheck.
Candidates need to be firm in their beliefs and be willing to stand up for the rights of the communities they are representing. Nick Wilkinson’s action is very reminiscent of Todd Gardenhire, who feels like he never has to answer for his actions. By not debating, Nick’s ability to be a good senator for District 10 should worry voters. What a coward!
