NextLevel is a seven-month entrepreneurship program that uses the StreetWise MBA curriculum to teach new business owners leadership skills and train them on how to put their growth plans into action. At the presentation are, front row from left, Smith, Diana Bulloch, Tanjela Johnson, Urban League President Warren Logan, Jackson and Albert Waterhouse. In back are, from left, Cheryl Key, Dr. Dan Challener, Dr. Kirk Kelley, Sandy Poi and Dr. Ernest Reid.

Kids on The BlockChattanooga Kids on the Block has received a $7,500 donation from Westfield Foundation with the assistance of First Volunteer Insurance Agency. The grant is part of the new Westfield Legacy of Caring program, in which Westfield agencies across the country may nominate a local nonprofit whose mission is either disaster relief, insurance pathways, family stability or safety. Kids on the Block was one of 45 nonprofit agencies nationwide to receive a grant. From left are John Hewgley, First Volunteer Insurance Agency president; Kelly Lowry, Kids on the Block marketing director; Kelly Williams, Kids on the Block executive director; and Mike Owen, First Volunteer insurance agent.

Action Air owners Kevin Horne and Eric Dunn, from left, present a $2,500 check to the Salvation Army to help fund the agency's Beat the Heat program. With them are Kimberly George, Salvation Army director of marketing, and Salvation Army Maj. Robert Lyle.

The Chattanooga alumnae chapter of Delta Delta Delta sorority recently made a $1,262 donation to the Believe Campaign for Children's Hospital at Erlanger. The donation was raised through a June fundraiser at Flying Squirrel Bar in which the restaurant donated 10 percent of the evening's sales, money that was matched by the Lamp Post Group. Tri-Delt alumnae make the presentation to Jan Cooper, second from left, Erlanger Health Foundation director of development, and Jed Mescon, front right, Erlanger Health System vice president of marketing, public relations and development.
