I-75 spill. Update: Traffic is currently backed up to Hamilton Place Mall. The smell is terrible.
TDOT crews are on the scene of an apparent spill of animal parts on southbound Interstate 75 between the East Brainerd Road exit and the Interstate 24 split.
THP dispatchers said this morning that the disgusting spill happened around mile-markers 2 and 4. A motorist called in to the Times free Press and reported what they saw were possible pig parts on the interstate.
“They are cleaning up animal debris that has fallen off a truck,” the dispatcher said.
A TDOT online report states the incident was reported at 8:37 a.m. The two right lanes are affected. The mess should be cleaned up in the next hour or so.
