The Ringgold Playhouse offers a bit of a double feature with its next production. “Noises Off,” running the next two weekends, is a show within a show that dissects the mishaps of live theater.

The high-energy comedy, the third of the season, follows the hilarious struggles of a theater company trying to open the fictional farce “Nothing On.” The audience gets a look at the struggles as the cast and crew continuously fight with each other both onstage and off.

“It’s a crazy show with so many laughs. We’ve really had a blast working on it,” says Adam Cook, TRP’s executive director. “It’s been an interesting couple of months working on it. We’ve had a ton of fun, but it’s been a very difficult show to get a handle on. Between the complicated set, the number of props needed and the madness of having nine actors running around in a frenzy, it’s been challenging, but in a good way.”

The play opens with the fictional theater’s director, Lloyd Dallas, played by Jeff Buchwald, trying to run his team through their final rehearsal before opening night. The story then follows the crew through a horrible matinee performance where audiences will get a chance to see some of the shenanigans that take place backstage.
