As you gear up for March Madness, it’s time to turn your attention to what you’ll be sipping, as well as where you’ll be sipping it, as you celebrate sweet victory.
Sports bars are ideal places to experience the madness, ensuring, via numerous TVs and access to different channels, that you don’t miss a single game. They also offer an atmosphere that is difficult to re-create elsewhere, overflowing with camaraderie (and rivalry), beer and Buffalo wings.
If the sports bar you choose happens to be Fox & Hound and your team happens to be losing, you can drown your sorrow in an entirely appropriate cocktail, the Angry Balls. And if you’re not losing? Well, cinnamon is good at getting you fired up regardless.
What you need:
- 1 ounces Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
- 1 ounce lemon sour (Instructions follow.)
- 3 ounces Angry Orchard Hard Cider
- 3 cherries
What you do:
Lemon sour
Combine a cup each of water and sugar in a pot, bring to a boil while stirring to dissolve sugar, then remove from heat and let cool. Meanwhile, strain a cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice into a resealable bottle and discard the pulp. Add cooled simple syrup, shake and serve or refrigerate.
Angry Balls
Combine first three ingredients, then add cherries, which will resemble tiny basketballs suspended in your drink.
