Georgia’s football team was no match for Alabama in October, but the Bulldogs have scored a March victory over the Crimson Tide.

Jake Fromm, one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2017 signing class, flipped his commitment from Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide to Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs on Thursday. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder from Warner Robins, Ga., committed to Alabama on Oct. 10, a week after the Tide pummelled the Bulldogs 38-10 in Sanford Stadium.

“Officially a Dawg!!” Fromm posted on Twitter. “Feels good to be home.”

Rivals.com rates Fromm as the No. 3 quarterback nationally in the 2017 class, while 247Sports.com has him at No. 4. Georgia signed the top-rated quarterback in the 2016 class, Jacob Eason of Lake Stevens, Wash., who enrolled in January and is set for the March 15 start of spring practice.

As a Houston County High School junior, Fromm completed 250 of 424 passes (59 percent) for 4,099 yards with 36 touchdowns and six interceptions. He helped lead the team to an 11-2 record and the GHSA Class AAAA state quarterfinals, with the Bears scoring at least 34 points in all but one game and more than 40 in eight games.
