ATLANTA (AP) – A county medical examiner’s office says smoke inhalation led to the deaths of at least four of six people in a house fire in Atlanta.
James Bartlett with the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office told The Associated Press on Thursday that all four deaths have been classified as accidental.
Bartlett identified the four people who were killed Monday at the northwest Atlanta home as 62-year-old Gene Spurley Sr.; 46-year-old Velma Rivers; 49-year-old Anthony Jones; and 54-year-old Anthony Brown.
The medical examiner has yet to release the identities of two other people who died and their causes of the death.
Atlanta Fire Rescue officials have said the cause of the blaze does not appear suspicious, though investigators were considering all possibilities.
