WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama will use an historic address to the Cuban people in Havana next week to lay out his vision for Cuba’s future.

Obama will speak at the Grand Theater of Havana on Tuesday during the first visit by a sitting U.S. president to the country in nearly 90 years.

Deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes says Obama will discuss America’s complicated history with Cuba and current concerns including human rights. But he says Obama will make clear that Cuba’s future is for Cubans to decide.

While in Cuba, Obama will also visit cultural sites in Old Havana and meet with Cardinal Jaime Ortega. He’ll meet with President Raul Castro at the Palace of the Revolution, interact with Cuban dissidents and attend a Major League Baseball exhibition game.
