One man has been transported to a local hospital after deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department responded to a water rescue after a man ran his truck off Macedonia Road into Nickajack Lake.
Sheriff Ronnie “Bo” Burnett said when deputies arrived they found that about a quarter of the man’s truck was in the water and he appeared confused. No visible injuries were apparent, but medical crews used a backboard and transported him to a hospital for evaluation.
“He appeared more disoriented than anything,” Burnett said.
According to Burnett, the man appeared to be over 70 years old and some alcohol was found in the car, but he could not say if the man had been driving under the influence.
