Obama’s legacy is before us now
President Obama recently said he would have to wait 10 years before he would know his legacy. He might not want to know the truth. He and his Democrat cronies destroyed the best health care system in the world by shoving Obamacare – which will become less affordable with its taxes, fees and penalties, and fewer health care providers – down our throats. He’s gotten us $18 trillion dollars in debt with his policies. Scandal after scandal: Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the VA, IRS and the Bergdahl fiasco. No one is ever held accountable with Obama’s Justice Department.
He’s managed to divide this country by race, politics, religion and class. Now he’s going after gender. The Democratic Party has been hijacked by “progressives.” Obama has no respect for the Constitution or Congress; he had rather rule by pen. His failed policies are the rule, not the exception. We have already lost freedom of religion and speech. It is PC madness run amok.
Under his watch, America has lost respect from our allies and our enemies. Four more years of his failed policies via Hillary would just about destroy what’s left of the America we love.

Use cell tower money for stadium
The Hamilton County School Board does not build or maintain any outdoor athletic facilities at the schools it manages. The school board has allowed Raymond James Stadium to deteriorate to the point it was condemned and demolished. ERHS has the good fortune to be able to generate some money with the installation of a cell tower on ERHS property that can be put toward a new stadium, but the school board wants that money for its own purposes.
I support all money generated by a cell tower to go toward building a new stadium at ERHS. Since the school board does not maintain any outdoor athletic facilities, I would like to see all outdoor athletic facilities at E.R. Middle and High School to be ceded back to the city of East Ridge due to the school board’s dereliction of responsibility for the school property.

Young Democrats don’t have facts
After reading a recent letter from the president of the Hamilton County Young Democrats, I wanted to address some of the points raised. First, the Hamilton County Commission has not raised property taxes on anyone for nearly 10 years. This is a fact that cannot be disputed.
Do you know which tax bill has significantly increased over this same time period? That’s right, the one on residents of the city of Chattanooga, as the mayor and Democratic majority on the City Council voted to raise city property taxes by nearly 20 percent a few years ago.
Yes, the public supports a senior tax freeze, which makes me wonder why the Young Democrats and other Democratic leaders in Hamilton County are not asking Mayor Andy Berke and the Democratic majority on the council to freeze property taxes for seniors now to protect them from increases in our city taxes.
Then again, I guess this position would not support their desire to make unfounded claims and outright misstatements on the senior tax freeze issue in hopes of winning an election.
