Food and wine will take centerstage Saturday, May 21, as the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera presents its annual UnCorked fundraiser.

CSO Executive Director Samantha Teter says the outdoor event, held along the banks of the Tennessee River at Renaissance Park, will feature “some of the finest restaurants in Chattanooga [bringing] some of their most scrumptious bites.”

Eighteen restaurants and food vendors are signed on, including Bluewater Grille, Rolling J, Puckett’s, Walden Club, Porter’s Steakhouse and Five. Each restaurant will be paired with a wine selected by Athens Distributing.

Pairings run the gamut. For instance, Culinard, the Culinary Arts Institute of Virginia College, will prepare braised lamb on crostini with an orange compote, which will be served with a Cline Cellars North Coast Viognier. Urban Stack will serve bologna sliders, paired with a Domaine des Cassagnoles Gros Manseng.

Serving other accompaniments are Chattz Coffee (brewed coffee, iced for the occasion), Dipped Fresh (chocolate-dipped delights), Milk & Honey (assorted gelatos) and Taco Mamacito (guacamole, red salsa and chips).

This year’s VIP tent will feature wines of the world. Industry experts will provide VIP attendees with samples of several varieties of wines from various countries such as Spain, France, Italy, Chile, Argentina and the U.S. All VIP attendees receive a souvenir wine glass and plate, plus free parking in the Chattanooga Theatre Centre lot with a provided shuttle. The VIP experience also includes tastes from 212 Market and Sequatchie Cove Creamery.

The general-admission ticket includes wine, food and a souvenir glass.

Smooth Dialects will set the mood with music during the evening. The local jazz/funk/soul band is fronted by lead singer Maria Sable, daughter of former CSO conductor Vakhtang Jordania.
