Keionta Davis and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga defense have been down this road before.
That doesn’t mean it gets any easier.
Seventh-ranked UTC (8-1, 6-1 Southern Conference) will get its second look this season at a triple-option offense when it hosts Wofford (6-3, 4-2) on Saturday. The Mocs fared only decently the first time around, allowing 348 yards on 77 carries in a 22-14 loss at The Citadel on Oct. 15.
The yardage total notwithstanding, the biggest problem in that game was that UTC’s defense couldn’t get off the field.
The Bulldogs ran 81 offensive plays to UTC’s 47, converted 13 of 20 third-down opportunities and one of their two fourth-down attempts and held the ball for 39:26.
