Robert and Wendy Goodfriend pledged a $2 million gift to Tennessee Wesleyan University to support its School of Business.
“We are making this pledge in honor of my father and the Goodfriend family,” said Robert Goodfriend. “There was no better friend to Athens, Tenn., than Mike Goodfriend. He helped a lot of people, never looking for attention. Dad was a giver and never a taker, and I think that served him well in business.”
Dr. Morris “Mike” Goodfriend ran Goodfriend’s Men’s Clothing store, which grew into Goody’s Family Clothing national chain.
