Project: Tomorrow Building

Owner: Ross Hotel Partners LLC, jointly owned by Lamp Post Properties and River City Co.

Location: 818 Georgia Avenue at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Patten Parkway, just across the street from the headquarters of the Lamp Post Group

History: The 4-story building dates back to 1888 and for many decades operated as the Ross Hotel and was the site of Yesterday’s restaurant.

Size: The structure includes 28,800 square feet

Investment: $8 million

General contractor: T.U. Parks Co.

Architect: Artech

Schedule: The Tomorrow Building should be ready for occupancy in December. Leasing has already begun on the rental units.

Scope of project: The building will hold 39 “co-living” apartments, each with about 352 square feet, and will rent from $895 to $1,200 a month, including utilities and internet. The building will also have common living, dining and “innovation spaces” that tenants will share.

“There is not anything like this in the Southeast, but we think it offers a unique and attractive lifestyle for many of those coming to Chattanooga to live and work downtown,” said Stephanie Hays, marketing manager for Lamp Post Properties.
