A DeKalb County, Ala., family is mourning the death of a man killed when the car he was working on fell on top of him on Labor Day.
Sheriff Jimmy Harris said authorities got the call around 6:55 a.m. CDT Monday on the incident at a home on County Road 112 in the Sylvania community.
Harris said 42-year-old Sanchez Albino Huerta was found unresponsive when emergency crews got to his home.
“It appeared that Huerta was outside working on the vehivle when the jack failed and the vehicle fell on him,” Harris states in a news release. Cornoner Tomn Wilson pronounced Huerta dead at the scene.
“This was a tragic accident and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Mr. Huerta,” Harris said.
