Two Tennessee bands will take the stage at Clyde’s On Main, 12 W. Main St., this weekend. Both acts start at 10 p.m. and there is a $5 cover charge both nights.
Boy Named Banjo, an Americana-roots band, will play Friday, April 7.
The original trio of Barton Davies, William Reames and Willard Logan founded the group in 2011. Now joined by Sam McCullough and Ford Garrard, the band has performed at Bonnaroo and was nominated for Best Local Band in Nashville in 2015. The group’s been described by Sonicbids, an online gig-booking site, as “Tennessee’s Americana apostles.”
Tree Tops, a Knoxville-based band, includes Jon Mann, Cory Smith, David Webb, Jack Willard and Mike Bartlett. The band’s show on Saturday, April 9, is celebrating the release of its debut LP, “Ghosts Don’t Dance With Shoes.”
Tree Tops will appeal to the Lollapalooza-going, indie-rock-loving music fan.
