Bug-a-Paluza returning to Camp Jordan

Scenic City Volks Folks car club is hosting Bug-a-Paluza 19 on Saturday and Sunday, April 8-9, at Camp Jordan, 323 Camp Jordan Parkway in East Ridge. Festival hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Bug-a-Paluza is the annual event all about VWs. Every type of VW from Beetles to vans will be there. The festival includes a Volkswagen car show, swap meet, 100 vendors, contests and prizes. More than 350 VWs were displayed in last year’s car show.

Anyone interested may enter a Volkswagen in the show for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind trophy. There are 40 show classes for air-cooled and water-cooled VWs.

All money raised through admission fees, and a majority of concession proceeds, benefits the Chattanooga Ronald McDonald House. Admission is $5 for ages 13 and older, free to children 12 and younger.

Bug-a-Paluza draws thousands of visitors each year – some for the day, others spending the night to attend both days. Camping is available on-site for small tents or large RVs with water and electricity. Pets are welcome on campgrounds.
