Thanks to Trumpcare, we see Republican Party ideals: less care, more cost for the poor. More care, less cost for the rich.

Friends, mortified on what their vote did to our once-great country, don’t want to discuss politics anymore.

To quote Trump, whose approval rating – at 35 percent – is lower than Obama’s ever got: why so high?

Trump is a poor man’s idea of a rich man, a weak man’s idea of a strong man and a stupid man’s idea of a smart man.

Of course, Donald Trump idolizes Andrew Jackson, who authorized the Indian Removal Act of 1830, leading to the Trail of Tears.

Remember, if you get tired of hearing things you don’t like about our president, there’s always an alternative facts source. They’ll tell you what you want to hear.

Silly me. I thought the Russians would have to invade the U.S. before they could help install their man as president.

The difference between Watergate and Obamagate is there is no Gerry Ford to pardon Obama.

The difference between Clinton/Obama and President Trump is that Trump is not experiencing an upgrade in lifestyle.

Is the interest in President Trump’s business holdings because Clinton and Obama had none until after office?

With a lot of discussion about the conditions of CSLA and CSAS, why not take both schools and move them to the underused Eastgate Town Center?

Regarding the WUTC flap: The real question is how that reporter ever got hired?

How many professors at UTC would love to have the $232,000 a year salary that the departing men’s basketball coach was making?

I wish the local media would feature area kids when raising money for St. Jude. Thank you, Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. It’s all right here!

If the CVB, funded by hotel/motel taxes, cannot account for funds entrusted to them, then its ideal level of funding is zero.

Since doctors in Tennessee are protected by law and impossible to sue for malpractice, I see why Tennessee is a good place to practice.

I so don’t care where people use the bathroom.

CVB expenditures constitute a subsidy to marketing certain profitable attractions in Chattanooga, while smaller and upstart venues are excluded.

Hey, Todd Gardenhire and cohorts, way to get that reporter fired. If ethics were the standard, you wouldn’t have a job.

Can’t see the need for future leaders in Chattanooga? Taxes for education would mean a future for schools. Don’t forget leaders begin with education!

Tim Boyd, you rock! I guarantee you will have the support of educated seniors who can’t take a tax hit.

How about making puzzle clues and squares bigger? We old, weak-eyed geezers would thank you greatly. Can’t see or print that small.

Tim Boyd’s idea for a Dalewood-Brainerd middle high school is brilliant. Go with it, commissioners, it’s working at East Hamilton!

Hamilton County police cars: please help set examples to encourage turn signal use. Even one fail-to-use (Shallowford Road at I-75 last week) can hurt this need!

Do you suppose our local authorities could put larger signs going up the ridge cut that say NO TRUCKS IN LEFT LANE, VIOLATORS WILL BE FINED $________ and enforce this?

If you’ve never quite understood irony, then come to Rhea County and view our left-over, political billboard proclaiming: “End the corruption, vote Trump – Pense!”
