As a newcomer to Chattanooga, the expression, “We appreciate you” is new to me. I see it as a more personal way to say, “Thank you.”
My wife, Lee Ann, and our daughter, Rachel, attended a theater downtown. My wife fell down some steps, breaking her ankle in three places. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Our daughter had to be taken separately. When I arrived at the emergency room, I found Rachel with Sgt. Chris Harvey of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, who had driven her to the hospital and stayed with her until I arrived. Rachel had to stay in the emergency room area for several hours. She took it all well, and I attribute this to having someone with her until I was able to get there. Sgt. Harvey, the Gillen family appreciates you (very much).
