A man was fatally struck by a car in Polk County on Saturday, according to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The THP says that 52-year-old Michael May of Lilburn, Ga. attempted to cross the Highway 64 entrance ramp to Highway 64 West when he was hit by a car traveling westbound.
State troopers said May walked into a travel lane and was killed by the vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver did not suffer any injuries and will not face any charges.
