Andi CagleLocal trumpet player Tom Cordell is planning a Jazz Jam from 7 to 10 tonight, Aug. 10, at The Camp House, 149 E. M.L. King Blvd. Cordell is looking for backers for his 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which he has formed to produce a North Shore Jazz Festival. All musicians and jazz fans are invited to the Jazz Jam for the election of board members and discussion of future events.
Among those joining Cordell in the jam session will be R.T. Bolden on saxophone, Cameron Perkins on drums, Frank Giamarella on piano and Michael Dern on bass.
Andi Cagle, executive chef and owner of Kozy Cooking Catering Co., will cater the event. She was executive chef for the Ambassador’s Ball at the 2013 inauguration of President Barack Obama. For more, email trumpetimprimprovisation@gmail.com.
