A 40-voice community choir of senior adults will present a concert on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 6 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 8645 E. Brainerd Road.
The Joyful Sounds Senior Community Choir formed five years ago, but this will be the group's second public concert. The choir is directed by Willie Kitchens, former lead singer of The Impressions. The interdenominational ensemble draws its members from East Hamilton County, East Ridge, Harrison and Ringgold, Ga.
Kitchens and his band will lead the choir in hymns, gospel and pop numbers. On the program will be "Bridge Over Troubled Water," "Hit the Road, Jack" and "Jesus Is Real." The concert is free, however a love offering will be collected to benefit the Snack Pack Ministry. For more information 423-892-9363.
