Drinks in a box are no longer relegated to children's lunchboxes. Adult-beverage subscriptions are a great way to sample new and hard-to-find products, and they also make great gifts. While wine is the most popular option, craft beer and liquor subscriptions are available as well. Here are a few of our favorite local and national clubs.

What you get: The Premier Cru tier features two bottles, typically a red and a white, from a particular region. You can get a more in-depth look at a region's wines with a Grand Cru membership, which offers six bottles a month from a specific area. The mimosa fan in your life will love the opportunity to expand his or her knowledge of sparkling wine through the Bubble Club, which each month offers one bottle of grower Champagne produced in France's Champagne region on the same estate as the grapes it's made from, and one bottle of sparkling wine from elsewhere in the world that is considered high in quality as well as value. Members also receive 5 percent off bottles and 15 percent off cases throughout that month.

Who will love it: People who want to try new wines that they can continue to purchase locally.

What you pay: $29/month for Premier Cru; $99/month for Grand Cru; $69/month for Bubble Club. There's no joining fee. Members are charged on the first of every month, and can let the store know they'd like to cancel or skip the following month when they pick up their wine.
