Hundreds of Chattanooga residents are meeting in Coolidge Park for a candlelight vigil and silent reflection on expanded immigration rules created by President Donald Trump in the early days of his administration.
Organizer Amna Shah said she doesn’t expect marching or chanting, but some attendees will bring signs.
“I was an immigrant in 1999, and I now have a company and I employ people here in Chattanooga,” she said. “Not all immigrants are here to take your jobs.”
A Facebook group created for the event listed nearly 1,000 attendees.
