Foster’s Mocs hope to regain focus, send message to SoCon

For a game, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team lost its focus.

That proved costly.

UTC enters today’s 5:30 p.m. home game against Mercer with the Mocs and Bears each sporting a 6-1 record in Southern Conference play. UTC has an upper hand in the seeding race midway through the conference schedule by virtue of its 74-56 win over the Bears on Jan. 7 in Macon, Ga., but the Mocs (12-9) are coming off a 17-point loss at Furman on Saturday.

The Bears (17-4) have won five straight games since their loss to UTC.

UTC coach Jim Foster said Wednesday morning that his team had a pair of good practices in preparation for the game.
