Two separate traffic stops Wednesday in DeKalb County, Ala., resulted in the arrest of three people on drug charges, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
The DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit stopped a vehicle on Alabama Highway 75 in Geraldine and a subsequent search found drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance. Jeremy Matthew Jones, 41, of Fyffe, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
On a separate traffic stop made by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies on County Road 57 in the Dawson area a vehicle search uncovered drug paraphernalia, a controlled substance and a little over four thousand dollars in cash. Matthew David Jones, 39 of Dawson, and Krystle Croft Taylor, 31, also of Dawson, were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of controlled substance.
Once Taylor was at the DeKalb County Detention Center she was found with methamphetamine on her person, which led to an additional charge of promoting prison contraband second-degree.
“Thanks to the DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit, Deputies, Geraldine Police Department, Albertville Police Department and Crossville Police Department for their assistance on making these arrests,” said DeKalb County Sheriff Harris.
