Q: I need a total hip replacement. What can I expect?
A: Once you’ve exhausted all non-operative treatment options and are a good candidate for a total hip replacement, doctors will talk to you about your medical history, current medications and home situation. A plan will then be coordinated for medications and other treatments. If you are relatively healthy, motivated and have good home support, the risks and benefits of a same-day, outpatient joint replacement will be discussed with you and your family.
