After a sweeping victory in North Georgia’s 2017 Best of the Best awards, Farm to Fork is officially one of the most decorated restaurants in Ringgold. Farm to Fork’s awards this year include “Best Overall Restaurant,” “Best Meal for the Money,” “Best New Restaurant” and “Best Dining Experience.”
Additionally, Farm to Fork was a finalist for “Best Burger,” “Best Carry-Out,” “Best Country Cooking,” “Best Dessert,” and “Best Meat & Three.”‘
All the ado over Farm to Fork is not happenstance.
“We are constantly trying to stay in the mood of our customers,” said Farm to Fork owner Hugh Harris. “We watch what they eat and what they like.”
So, what do his customers want?
“Old-fashioned foods like chicken and dressing and chicken and dumplings,” Hugh said. “They want fresh, non-processed foods like real corn and real okra.”
Aside from the vegetables Hugh sources from his own garden, he shops around for the best he can get, and people can taste that, said Hugh, adding that the reason he is able to keep his prices affordable is because the restaurant limits its waste.
“We get our food fresh, and we use it immediately,” he said. “What comes in on Tuesday is gone by Thursday.”
But Hugh said what he likes best about his restaurant is that the staff never rushes people out if they don’t want to be rushed.
“We want people to kick back,” he said. “It’s comfortable. Blues music in the background. The faint smell of hickory smoke – let’s you know you’re in the country.”
Still, Hugh admitted, there is always room to improve – in some areas, anyway.
“Our food is really, really good,” Hugh said. “It’d be hard to improve upon that, but we’re not perfect. We have table-waits sometimes. But we’re going to keep trying to do better, to be more consistent and to always be improving our service.”
In addition to expanding its communication with its customers, Farm to Fork also has plans to expand to another location in Dalton. Stay tuned for more ways than ever to enjoy the award-winning Farm to Fork.
