The Calhoun Little Theatre will enlist some outside help in solving a murder in its next production, “Bordello of the Damned.”

For this interactive murder mystery, Madam Iggy is inviting area outlaws (members of the audience) to the Leland Saloon and her brothel, aptly named Miss Iggy’s, the best little, um, establishment of its kind in South Dakota. Your mission while visiting is to solve a murder (or two).

But beware. Some among you may become a cold-blooded killer. Or perhaps the next victim.

To be fully involved, the audience is encouraged to come in costume, whether you choose to be a bad-boy outlaw, one of Iggy’s girls or any other character in keeping with the 1880s Old West.

“Dress the part – it’s optional of course, but it will enhance your experience,” producers say in a news release.

Proceeds raised in this fundraiser will help purchase new house lights for Harris Arts Center’s Ratner Theatre.

“The current lighting system has served us well, but like everything, lights wear out,” says the news release. “New lighting will enhance future productions and thus allow us to better serve the community.”

Tickets include a three-course barbecue meal catered by David Burton. A cash beer and wine bar also will be available. Anyone purchasing a table of eight will receive a $30 discount.
