Hamilton County Clerk Bill Knowles announced today his office continues to see increased activity for motor vehicle transactions, business licenses and marriage licenses.
“The Courthouse and Bonny Oaks tag and title offices have experienced a combined increase of more than 30,000 motor vehicle transactions over the past five years.” Knowles said. “More than 66,700 motorists renewed their tag at www.countyclerkanytime.com in 2016. This online option has continued to grow since inception in 2001.”
The Hamilton County Clerk’s Office is the first in Tennessee to offer online tag renewal, he said.
The courthouse office assisted 10,498 motorists with renewing driver’s licenses in 2016, which represents an increase of over 400 more the office served in the previous year, Knowles said.
The office issued 2,409 licenses for new businesses, pushing the county’s total to 13,477, Knowles said. The Hamilton County Clerk’s Office also issued 2,694 marriage licenses in 2016, the highest number since 2012.
