A campfire talk Friday will focus on the geology of Little River Canyon National Preserve.
Canyon park ranger Larry Beane will talk about fossils, rocks and how the mountains were formed in Alabama at the event at DeSoto State Park. He will use fossils and rocks from the canyon and pictures of fossil life before the dinosaurs.
Seating is limited, so bring your own camp chair. The talk starts at 8 p.m. CDT at 7104 DeSoto Parkway NE, Fort Payne, Ala.
