I am an ardent list-maker. In fact, I love lists so much that my lists even have lists. For example, my bucket list is categorized to include sub-lists such as "trips to take," "wildlife to spot," and "books to read." Recently, I was inspired to add a new one, titled "foods to try."
The idea occurred to me after a friend invited me for a meal composed entirely of foraged foods. The main course? Fried squirrel - a meat I have always been curious to try.
That dinner deserves a column of its own. For now, I'd like to share a few other provisions I aspire to someday sample:
- Rattlesnake
- Opossum
- Ostrich egg
- Fish, caught and cleaned by myself
- Any baked good made with cricket flour
This week, I challenge you to make a list of your own. Get weird with it! Life, after all, is a buffet.
