New schools chief needs classroom experience

I am writing to express my sincere opinion that our new superintendent have experience as a licensed, professional teacher in a public school classroom setting.

The perspective earned in the field of teaching is paramount for the construction of and decisions about policy that affects students, teachers and families. Teachers share a calling; it is important for the prospective school district superintendent to have, at some point in their career, heeded that call which now leads them to seek such a position.

By ensuring our new superintendent shares that same passion, that same enthusiasm, and frankly, that same heartache that comes when instructing kids in the classroom, the Board of Education may begin to repair a broken reputation with our community, and also forge a loyalty where it matters most: the classroom.
