Name: Smart Furniture Studio, the flagship retail store for Smart Furniture, which sells products nationwide.
Date opened: 2007
On the move: The store opened on Market Street before moving to the North Shore and now back to downtown.
New location: 1700 Broad St. Once a Chevrolet dealership, the lofty space has been transformed into a storefront that provides the internet-based company more space to show customers, in person, what it offers. “Everyone loves the space and feels it shows our style better,” said studio manager Leslie Morales.
Offerings: While other retailers specialize in either residential furniture or commercial furniture, Smart Furniture Studio specializes in both, offering a diverse collection of designer and customizable furniture to complete any office or home.
Accolades: The store’s staff of designers provides full interior design assistance, and their dedication to customer service has not gone unnoticed. The studio was ranked among the top three furniture stores in Chattanooga by Three Best Rated, a site that hand-picks top businesses in each city. The review praised employees for being “super nice and helpful.” “It’s nice that our customers recognize us for our customer service, because our goal is to genuinely assist them with their furniture needs at whatever step they are in their process,” said Morales.
Events: The studio regularly hosts speaking series, design forums and modern-art displays to support individuals and businesses throughout the community as well as to develop relationships with customers. The events also allow the staff to tap into Chattanooga’s creative energy, Morales added. “As interior designers, we want to stay involved in the creative community to inspire ourselves so that we can add the most up-to-date and passionate designs for our customers,” she said. “And we love hosting events!”
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
More info: Visit smartfurniture.com, connect through Facebook, “or just come on in and meet us,” Morales encouraged.
