The Grundy County, Tenn., school board member arrested this week after a run-in with deputies is characterizing the allegations against her as “lies.”

Authorities arrested Amanda Kasey Kilgore Anderson, 34, on charges of resisting arrest, public intoxication, indecent exposure, making false reports or statements, disorderly conduct and coercion of a witness. The arrest followed a domestic call to her home in Pelham, Tenn.

Thursday afternoon, Anderson, who was on the way to speak to her lawyer, said she wanted legal advice before issuing a statement to media. She said she also had surveillance video and an audio recording of the encounter with deputies.

“It’s going to be interesting,” said Anderson, one of the three first district representatives on the Grundy County school board. “There’s so many lies.”

Police reports on the arrest were released Thursday by Sheriff Clint Shrum along with an audio recording of the 911 call that led to the arrest. On the recording, the caller told the dispatcher he had a “domestic assault” situation, but then hung up the phone. When the dispatcher called back, the caller said everything was “fine,” but officers responded to make sure.

According to the report filed by responding officers T.J. Bean and Josh King, Anderson was allegedly urinating on the ground as the deputies arrived at 1687 State Route 50.

“When we pulled in the driveway, I noticed the female subject was urinating in view of the state highway and public,” King wrote in his report. “When asked what she was doing she yelled, ‘I’m peeing!'”

King said Anderson “walked to us and was very unsteady,” the report states. “There was a strong odor of alcohol.”

Anderson’s husband, 41-year-old Anthony Dewayne Anderson, had left the couple’s residence in another vehicle. They noticed all the windows in a Jeep Wrangler at the home had been broken out.

Bean and King said in their reports that Kasey Anderson kept telling the officers nothing was going on and to leave unless they had a warrant.

The officers said she then “took off at a jog for the front door of the residence.”

When the officers attempted to restrain her, she resisted and tried to pull away until she was handcuffed, reports state.

“The female yelled over and over to the two children standing on the front steps, ‘Don’t talk to them! Don’t tell them anything!'” King wrote in the report.

When Anthony Anderson returned to the house after authorities called him, he told the officers he and his wife had a verbal altercation and they had been drinking.

He told the officers his wife broke the Jeep windows after he left the home earlier.

Bean gave the man field sobriety tests, “which he performed well on,” and did not arrest him, reports state.

Kasey Anderson was released Tuesday on $6,000 bond and faces an arraignment on the charges on July 13.

She was elected to the school board on Aug. 7, 2014, according to Grundy County election records. She had not held public office before.
