Mike Partin, spokesman for Sequachee Valley Electric Coop, posted an update on his Facebook page reporting that 1,200 coop members were still without power at 5:30 a.m. CDT.
“That’s down from a peak of 9,000 plus at the height of the outage,” Partin said in the post.
The utility serves customers in Bledsoe, Sequatchie, Grundy and Marion counties, as well as smaller portions of Coffee, Cumberland, Franklin, Hamilton, Rhea and Van Buren counties.
“We have outages in all of our districts. As you can imagine we have several broken poles and these take some time,” Partin said.
But help is on the way.
“We have fresh crews from Service Electric coming from Knoxville areas arriving near daylight,” Partin said.
Partin asked customers to be patient and to send him a personal message on his Facebook page if there are any specific issues to report to SVEC.
