New Eagle Scout
Arrington Drew Haliburton, a member of Troop 43, achieved Eagle Scout rank during a Court of Honor held at the Tyner-East Brainerd Youth Recreation Center.
The son of Gaye and Marvin D. Haliburton is a freshman at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, majoring in logistics management. He is a 2016 graduate of Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences, where he was a member of the golf and baseball teams, member of the Paideia Society, chairman of the Student Relations Committee and a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House.
For the community-service project required of every Eagle Scout, he planned and implemented a pedestrian safety project at Brainerd High School. The Scout painted one-way arrows on entrance and exit roads around the school campus that designed traffic flow for picking up and dropping off students. He also painted safety crosswalks for students and faculty.
