Shots fired on Brainerd Road, man dies, but no bullet wound found

A man died Saturday night after witnesses heard shots fired but police said they found no obvious bullet wounds on his body.

Marcus Bradfield, 20, was walking with another man in the 3800 block of Brainerd Road when witnesses heard the sound of gunshots. Bradfield was dead when police arrived shortly before midnight. His companion was unharmed.

The police news release said an autopsy will be performed.

Just minutes later, another man was shot in the 600 block of Dodds Avenue, police said.

Officers responded to a ‘shots fired” call, and were called to a local hospital where they found Trevor Baldwin, 23, with a single gunshot wound to the hand.

Baldwin told investigators he was walking with friends to their car when shots were fired at them from a passing vehicle.

Anyone with information on either attack is asked to call police at 423-698-2525.
