Good Deed: Local knitting group donates hats to children’s hospital

A local knitting group has donated more than 870 handmade hats to pediatric patients at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.

After spending time with her own baby, Madelyn, in the Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Dana Hamilton decided to use her love for knitting to make infants feel loved and supported throughout their stay in the NICU. She created the “NICU Noggins Knitalong” retreat to provide local knitters the opportunity to give back by making hats for patients in the Children’s Hospital NICU and also in the pediatric oncology department.
