Scientists at the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute will host a special workshop on Saturday, Nov. 18, designed for high school teachers.
River Teachers is a seminar for educators that provides content ideas to create exciting activities for students that meet Tennessee and Georgia standards. Participants will be able to develop high-school science curriculum using data that has been collected by Aquarium researchers and conservation partners.
The workshop will cover topics such as water quality, science and technology, dam removal and native species reintroduction. Teachers will also learn how they can collaborate with the Institute to become involved with community cleanup programs such as Tennessee River Rescue and Georgia Adopt-A-Stream.
Saturday’s workshop will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is $10 per person.
