The Levitt AMP concert series wraps up with Tank and the Bangas tonight, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. at Bessie Smith Cultural Center, 200 E. M.L. King Blvd.
Singer-poet Tarriona Ball leads the Bangas in energetic soul, R&B, hip-hop and spoken-word performances that have been compared to “a gospel tent in Mississippi.” The New Orleans band plays tonight’s free Levitt AMP show just four days before launching a tour of Spain, Portugal, Italy and the Netherlands.
Voices of the Creative Underground will open. For more information: 423-266-8658.
