Dari Dip’s famous cornbread dresssing is back

While Dari Dip caters year-round, this season is one of the busiest times. And around the time that first autumn leaf falls, the North Georgia diner begins to take holiday orders. Popular bulk orders include chicken and dressing, squash casserole, and sides such as green beans and mashed potatoes.

Dari Dip can fill your entire holiday table; options include whole turkeys and baked hams. But the restaurant’s most popular recipe is undoubtedly its scratch-made cornbread dressing, said Don Benton, who co-owns Dari Dip with his son Donald. Over the next month, said Don, he and his son will prepare countless trays of that famous dressing to be delivered to church groups, office parties and family gatherings.

In addition to its to-go meals, Dari Dip also gives diners the option to host their holiday parties in the restaurant’s private 50-seat banquet hall. Parties of 25 diners or less are welcome to order when they arrive from Dari Dip’s regular menu, boasting dozens of down-home favorites such as fried chicken livers and country fried steak. Larger parties may pre-order meals off the menu or opt for customized buffet-style meals, which Don said is a popular option for private parties.
