Local favorite singer-songwriter Roger Alan Wade takes the stage at Puckett’s, 2 West Aquarium Way, on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 9 p.m.

Known for lyrics such as “Lovin’ you is like frying bacon nekkid, You tempt me darlin’, then you torture me,” Wade has been a singer-songwriter for more than 35 years.

He’s penned songs for Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, George Jones and the hit “Country State of Mind” for Hank Williams Jr.

Wade’s music has been featured on the TV show “Jackass,” which starred his cousin, Johnny Knoxville. He and Knoxville host an hour-long weekly show, “Big Ass Happy Family Jubilee” (named after a Wade song), on Sirius/XM’s Outlaw Country channel.

Wade was recently named by Saving Country Music as one of country music’s 85 greatest songwriters. Together with Neal Nichols, bass guitar and vocals, and Bob Stagner on drums, he fronts The Last Band.

Seating for Wade’s show begins at 8 p.m. There is a $12 cover charge. To make reservations: 423-708-8505.
