South Carolinian Nathan Angelo will stop at Songbirds Guitar Museum, 35 Station St., on Friday, Sept. 29, in support of his new album, “A Matter of Time.” The new music shares his life-altering experiences of becoming a father and dealing with his daughter’s rare metabolic disease.
His daughter received a liver transplant in fall 2016, and Angelo’s latest release celebrates the beauty of life and the hope he has for his daughter. His music embraces the soul, R&B and piano-pop of some of his musical influences, combined with his finest songwriting to date.
Mike Dougher, Songbirds talent buyer, says Angelo’s shows might not be the biggest or loudest, but they are high quality and emotionally powerful.
“When you leave one of his shows, you feel better than when you walked in. Songbirds is built for a show like this. Up close, engaging, demanding attention and musically on a higher level,” he says.
“I’ve found over the years, when writers pen songs dealing with their children, they are giving you their best. I’m really looking forward to hearing his new album,” says Dougher.
Show time is 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.
